Roger Ricks is a Swiss rock musician with a clear mission: to transform lives through the power of music.

On 31 July a court in Munich found that Suno had, in effect, stored the songs it trained on. Not learned from them in the abstract. Reproducible copies sitting inside the model. On 11 August, Spotify announced it will badge artist profiles whose identity turns out to be AI generated, and drop them from every recommendation.
Good news, both. Then I read Spotify's own wording again. The badge is about the artist's public identity, not about how the music was made.
So a fake person with a fake face gets flagged. Someone who types a prompt, gets a finished track back and uploads it under their own real name does not. My single sits on the same shelf as that track, same font, same play button, and nothing in either announcement tells you which of us was in the room.
